PUBG Esports Global Partner Teams (GPT) Interview – (4) FaZe Clan

There is a lot of interest in the PUBG Esports ‘Global Partner Team (GPT)’ announced earlier this year. On KRAFTON Blog, we prepared interviews with 4 teams, Natus Vincere, Petrichor Road, 17 Gaming and FaZe Clan, out of 8 global partners.

※The interview was conducted before the PUBG Global Series (PGS) 1.

FaZe Clan (페이즈 클랜) – Gustav (구스타브)

Q) Please introduce yourself and your team members (players & coaches) for PUBG Esports fans. Please try to describe each of your teammates using only one word (per player).

A) Hello, my name is Gustav I play for FaZe Clan with Fexx, jeemzz, and curexi. If I had to describe all of them with one word I would say Fexx is HUGE, jeemzz is hot, and curexi is smartboy.

Q) Where are you and your team members from?

A) Gustav # Denmark / jeemzz # Norway / Fexx # Wales / Curexi & Kovalely # Finnish

Q) How would you describe your team and your teams’ dynamics?

A) Hard working, with a sense of humor.

Q) What do you think is the biggest strength that each of your players bring to the team?

A) Fexx is very aggressive and got close range player and jeemzz has more experience than almost any player and is also extremely clever. Curexi is a new talent who is super hungry to win.

Q) Compared to other teams, what do you think is your teams’ overall strength? Why should other teams fear you and your team?

A) Other teams should fear us because we are extremely aggressive, and we will take any fight.

FaZe Clan (페이즈 클랜) – Fexx (펙스)

Q) What do you and your teammates do to boost the teams’ chemistry and to keep the motivation levels high?

A) We try to have fun together outside the game, and we are currently looking very much forward to the first LAN event so we can all be together as a team.

Q) What’s your goal as a PUBG Esports pro player?

A) My goal as an PUBG Esport player is to win the world champion ship at least once before I retire.

Q) What do you expect to experience or see with this new tournament?

A) We are a new team and trying out some stuff that I’ve never tried before. With curexi on Miramar and me on Erangle. So it will be interesting to see how it will work for us.

FaZe Clan (페이즈 클랜) – jeemzz (짐즈)

Q) Which team and player(s) threaten you or your team the most?

A) In Europe I would say it’s the other to Global Partner Teams, “NAVI and Twisted Minds”, since they are the biggest contenders for the title together with us.

Q) How did you feel when you found out about this?

A) Obviously I was very excited and honored to be on a global partnered team such as FaZe Clan. This also means that we get in-game skins which I can’t wait to wear in-game

Q) Did your team celebrate?

A) Yeah, we all flew to Wales to meet Fexx where we had a crazy night out on one of the wildest night clubs “Club Ice”.

FaZe Clan (페이즈 클랜) – curexi (큐렉시)

Q) For PUGB Esports fans, who may not know much about you or your team, why should they be your/your teams’ fans and support you going forward?

A) Our team brings a lot of personality, and we also have the most handsome streamer “jeemzz” he also smells really good.

Q) What are you excited for with your team-branded items?

A) I’m excited to dominate wearing the FaZe skins and dance in the pre-game lobby wearing them.

Q) Why do you think your fans should support your team and buy them?

A) Because they will make you 100% more handsome and you also unlock a free hug from me if you buy them.

Q) While representing your team with a team-branded skin, is there more pressure to play well?

A) There is always a lot of pressure playing for such a big brand as FaZe Clan. But I need that feeling it drives me to perform better.

Q) What does your team do better than any of the other GPTs?

A) Our team does the best cause we have 2 big GIANTS (Fexx & I) most other teams will be afraid when they see us on LAN.

Q) It’s a top eight situation with your team and the other GPTs. Who gets eliminated first and who wins the match?

A) Soniqs gets eliminated first cause TGLNT have the worst haircut and FaZe wins cause Fexx will eat the enemy.

Q) What has been your best moment as a PUBG Esports pro player and why?

A) My best moment as a PUBG pro player was qualifying to my very first event (IEM Oakland 2017) this kickstarted my career and made me who I am today.

Q) What do you think has been the best moment in PUBG Esports history?

A) There is many that could be included here. But craziest moment I remember was the PGC final 2019 where everything came down to the last game and GEN.G ended up winning it all with FaZe in second.

Q) What do you think is the best part of being a PUBG Esports pro player?

A) Best part for me as a pro PUBG player must be that I’ve gotten to travel the world so much. I’ve seen and visited places I never would’ve dreamed of if it wasn’t for PUBG. So I will forever be grateful for that and especially my time in Korea was really special for me (the food is great in Korea).

Q) If you had to give advice to your younger self when you first started playing PUBG Esports competitively, what advice would you give and why?

A) I would tell myself to not take stuff personal from teammates when they say something. At first when I joined my first team, I was very immature and dealing with critique was not easy as a young kid.

Q) Do you have anything to say to the PUBG Esports fans worldwide?

A) I wanna say thanks for continue watching and hopefully 2023 will be crazy with the new maps coming in. Keep watching and buy them team skins coming out to support the orgs and the game who make all this possible! ❤️

Q) FaZe Clan is one of the world’s most experienced PUBG Esports teams as it has been embedded in this scene since the very beginning with their rich and storied history. How do you envision the future of FaZe Clan?

A) I envision the future being filled up with trophies, happy moments, and victory.

Q) After a big offseason with a major roster update, what do you need to achieve to consider 2023 a success?

A) In order to achieve success this year we would need to win at least one international tournament
