[Link1], [Link2]. In the last two posts, we have announced about the popularity of BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) in India and the heat of the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2023 (BGIS 2023). Today, we prepared an interview with Blaze from the Gods Reign and Mac from the OR Esports, who achieved good results on the first day of BGIS 2023 Grand Final. They say that their lives changed completely before and after playing BGMI. We heard their thoughts on BGMI and their resolutions for the future.

※ This interview was conducted after the first day of BGIS 2023.

Nice to meet you. Please introduce yourself briefly.

Blaze: Hello, my name is Hamza, and my in-game name is Blaze. I’m 20 years old. And I play for Gods Regin.

Mac: So my name is MAC from OR esports and my real name is Bara basker and I’m 21 years old and I’m the assaulter of the team.

First of all, congratulations to both of you on eating chicken today. Please tell me how you feel about today’s game.

Blaze: So, basically today the matches went well. The first match we got a 20 bomber then the rest few matches in the between were like decent not bad but we are getting average points. And then we saw that before the last match that Revenant Esports is having a lead so we wanted to just end the lead so tomorrow we can be on top.

Mac: So like our main aim was to maintain a consistent point of like 12 13 points like every match and come at least finish at least in the top three which we did actually but we could have done better but like as like we wanted to have a minimum average of 13 points so we were able to do that. We are happy for that.

Is there a reason why you started BGMI?

Blaze: So you know that there’s a lockdown here so we’re not allowed to go to schools anywhere outside our house. So that was the time I started playing mobile games. One of a friends told me that you can start playing BGMI it’s an addictive game you can play together. So that’s how I started.

Mac: Actually it started as a just time flies and it turned into profession and I started playing scrimms and everything. So I used to play cricket before but like I got to know I’ll get a better future here so I had to stop cricket and completely focus on this. So it took me to like good places and got me so much opportunities.

What does your In-game ID mean?

Blaze: Blaze means quick.

Mac: I got this name from a friend. So I took a suggestion from a friend and he suggested me the name Mac and since then my name is Mac from then.

What does this competition, BGIS mean to you?

Blaze: Right now, it means everything to me because this is a thing we are like grinding so hard since the last so many years. If we win this we’ll be the best team in India currently. So I know my family wants me to win this tournament. It’s a very big thing for us.

Mac: It’s like everything for me. Like the last four years I’ve been working hard for this. It’s my first official event actually like finals. So like it does everything for me like it’ll get me new opportunities.

How much practice have you had for BGIS?

Mac: So every day all day I’ve been practicing for this.

What is the ultimate goal of this competition?

Blaze: Winning. Obviously, win.

Mac: Definitely winning. And do our best.

Do you have any advice for gamers who want to be a pro-gamer?

Blaze: If you just keep on grinding start playing like normal small scrims. All teams they will recognize you and they will offer you. So just be patient and keep working hard. One time you obviously come up like we came up.

Mac: Everyone will get the start but you should keep working for it as much as you can keep grinding for it. You’ll get what you deserve in the end.

What do you usually do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies other than games?

Mac: Actually I was a cricketer before so I go out to play cricket with friends.

Is there anything that changed before and after playing BGMI?

Blaze: Yes. A lot of things. Like before I was an introvert I was not going out anywhere to play I didn’t have much friends but after BGMI I became confident in life. I started traveling around. So yes it’s a very big thing. I got a bit matured.

Mac: Definitely. like I was a guy who’ll be sitting in the room all day. So like I never talked to anyone talked with anyone or bonded with anyone. So it got me new friends and everything like I got the opportunity to meet new people and from everywhere all over India and it helped me bond with everyone and like start talking to people.

Is there one thing you would like to say to the person you care most about right now?

Mac: The person who I’d most care about right now will be my family. Definitely it will be my family. They had my back from day when I like they gave me the freedom to pursue my dreams which was just definitely they supported me back then still now they supported me the same. They’ll let me do whatever I want and they’ll support me they’ll have my back always so I love them for that.

What do you want to do if you win the prize money?

Blaze: I’ll buy a flight in Mumbai. (laughs)

Mac: I have no idea. First thing for me it was about the trophy. It was never about the money. So for me main aim must have been the trophy. So if I won I’ll be spending it on some stuff shoes or something.

Is there anything you would like to say to the fans who came to see BGIS and the players who love BGMI?

Blaze: Yes, for sure. Thanks a lot for traveling and coming to us. I was like there are fans hitting just here and we’re playing and they’re cheering us as you can do it you can do it. So that was a very cheerful moment for us like they were motivating us at every point. Thank you so much.

Mac: Definitely. Like their support means everything to everyone in every place. So it motivates us to do mood and achieve mood. And thank you for all your support.

Among the 16 teams in the Grand Finals, the final results of the Gods Regin team and OR Esports team, which took 2nd and 3rd place on the first day, were 5th and 9th. Although the results were not what they expected, they didn’t fall behind the winning team in doing their best until the end. we hope the future of the two players will continue to shine.
